It's hard to believe that two months have already come and gone - already it seems like you have been a part of our family forever, and yet, it still feels like you just arrived! :) This has been a slower, more peaceful period for us, and we've been enjoying the more relaxing summer pace. Your daddy started his new job, and so you and S and I have been adjusting to managing the days by ourselves. You continue to be a pretty chill kiddo, so you seem to have taken everything in stride.
You are 12 lbs 14 oz, and near 95% in height at 24.5 inches! Like the rest of the family, you are tall and slender - this means you wear 3 months clothes because of length, but look like you're swimming in them because of girth!
Most of your days involve a lot of sleeping and a lot of eating, and then a lot of watching your big brother and mommy. One or two times a day, we'll take a long walk outside, and you still seem to love riding in the Ergo (and have outgrown your infant insert already!)
You are still very snuggly and love being held best of all - but like your brother, seem to like being able to watch people around us! You're starting to really enjoy facing outwards so that you can observe the world. But you are full of smiles for mommy, when I face you towards me!
A snapshot of you this month:
- You learned how to smile for real, and you seem to reserve the best of those smiles for mommy and your big brother. You've come close to laughing, but not quite yet. You also like your mobile and play-mat and give lots of smiles there too! And you're starting to "talk" to us a lot! You're fast becoming much more interactive!
- You can raise your head up well when you're on your tummy - and get some of your chest off the ground too - we're guessing it's only a matter of time before you start rolling over.
- You've learned how to put yourself down for naps this month, which is a huge help to mommy in handling two under two, and in general, you go to sleep very easily for naps and take 3-4 a day still.
- You made the switch to cloth diapers this month, and they look super cute on you! You, as usual, are unfazed by the transition, taking everything in stride!
- You still hate the carseat, but in the last few days, we've seem some positive improvements, so we are hopeful that maybe that will change soon!
- Bath-time is your favorite time of day - you kick and splash and coo a lot!
- You're consistently sleeping for 4-7 hour stretches at night - your personal record is 8 hours thus far! (But even though by your doctors standards it is, I'm hesitant to call that sleeping through the night, since it was from 6:30pm until 2:30am!)
We love you bunches, little man! Happy 2 Months!
